Staff members undergo the following:
- CPR/First Aid Training
- Background Check
- Sex Offender Background Check
Here is a list of qualifications for our center:
Martin Blvd. Day Care is a level 3 in Maryland EXCELS and we have several teachers who participate in Maryland Credentialing.
Qualifications:
- Must have High School Diploma certificate or GED certificate or successful completion of college courses for credit.
- 6 semesters, 90 clock hours or equivalent of approved early childhood coursework, or be approved as a teacher in Education Director for Kindergarten or grades 1 – 8 or holds a teaching certificate from MSDE or any other state for kindergarten or grades 1 – 8.
- Must have 1 year experience working with preschoolers in an approved setting (licensed center, school, recreation and parks, licensed family childcare), or 1 year college 30 semester hours in early childhood, or combined both.
- Must have or complete 9 clock hours of approved training in Communication with Staff, parents, and the Public, or successful completion of at least 1 academic college course taken for credit.
- Complete other classes MSDE requires.
- Must complete 12 clock hours of continued training each year, 6 hours must be in the Core of Knowledge.
